We’ve maintained an online listing for any genealogy, history (color code brown) or author (color code blue) event listings for some time. Options that will not add to the cost of a periodical may include: 
If currently renewals fall all over the calendar, consider a pro-rated renewal to get everyone renewing the same issue.  Further Tip: Either pro-rate new subscriptions, or offer that year’s back issues to new subscribers to keep renewals the same.

One can choose to have a press release, or do a press kit.  A press kit can contain:

*a photo of the author, the book, etc.
*a sheet about the book itself.
*a sheet about the author.
*a sheet about why the book is being published.
*a sheet about the publisher.
*a sheet about purchasing.
*a calendar of planned events important to the book such as signing party, etc.
*any other promotional material you can think of
